Dealing with Quotation Marks on Part Numbers¶
We have recently identified occurrences where Part Numbers contain single or double quotation marks. Unfortunately, these characters are protected in programming languages, such as SQL, which are used in the background architecture of Xchecker. When quotation marks are contained within Part Numbers, this can corrupt your data. We've made to the following improvements to prevent you from creating or replicating new parts with these special characters in. Below we explain the new notifications you may see in the future as a result of these changes.
Creating/Replicating a Part¶
If you try to create or replicate a new part and the part number contains any single or double quotation marks, a warning message will be displayed, which will prevent you from saving that part until quotation marks have been removed.
