Version: 3.1.2019.3¶
Released: 22/01/2019
Enhancements¶
Cross Reference Exports, Imports and Managing Cross Reference Relations¶
1. Cross Reference Exports, Imports: Changes to Reporting & Process¶
To improve performance, increase consistency and provide flexibility to users when validation is taking place, we have made the following changes to the Bulk Export, Import Cross Reference report and process.
Cross References Exports to an excel spreadsheet¶
- It is important to note that when you export a Cross Reference report, this will now lock any users from editing any Cross References within the product group that has been downloaded.
- If you are just using this report for reference, please supersede the export so other users can carry on with work needed.
- Within the excel spreadsheet you will now see the Part Status for reference only.
Please note Part status is not editable.¶
Alterations to the Import Process¶
We have improved the process to now include validation when Bulk Data Cross References are imported. Once an import is complete, Xchecker will prompt you to confirm or amend the changes. This does not affect the actions for exporting a file, which should still be carried out in the usual way.
The New Cross References Import Process¶
2. Managing Cross Reference Relations¶
This functionality is available to Xchecker Admins only.
This new function allows admin users to setup and control their Child Part Cross References from the Parent part number. The setup can be made for all company types and is controlled via: Manage-Administration-Manage Definitions-Manage Cross Reference Relations.
STEP 1: Make your selection from the dropdowns in the following order: Parent Product Group Parent Product Type Child Product Type Cross Reference Type STEP 2: Then select Save
Please note the screenshot above is for illustration purposes only, and you can specify more than one type for a Cross Reference Relation.¶
Once saved, all Parent Part number Cross References for Competitors will be copied across to the Child Parts. An email confirmation will be sent to your inbox once all Child Parts are updated.
Now you have set-up the Cross-Reference relation, the Child Part will have the Parent Cross References linked and any previous companies will be removed. It's important to note that you will not be able to add Cross References for the Child, as it will be locked depending on the set-up within the Manage Cross Reference Relations screen, and any Cross References will need to be added against the Parent.
