Version 3.1.2018.887

Released: 16/07/2018

Enhancements

Manage Product Descriptions.

Administrators can now enable Users to create their own part descriptions or, enforce the use of a controlled list, allowing better control and quality in a key area of the part creation process. To create a controlled list, simply go to: Admin>Manage Product Description, then add a value in this screen to create a drop-down box. If a value is not added in this screen it will remain a free text box.

Supersessions – managing duplicated apps.

We’ve created additional functionality to reduce possible duplications caused by Supersession activity.

Now when you create a Supersession, Xchecker will verify whether that same part has been linked to a vehicle more than once. If it has, a warning will appear advising you that the part you are trying to supersede already exists on the application. You will still be able to continue to process the Supersession, but there is now also an additional screen, which has been created so you can view, edit and resolve applications with a Supersession duplication.

In certain circumstances, it is occasionally necessary to have the same part listed as both Parent and Child. The ability to recognise this is now supported in Xchecker.
However, as the use of this feature is not very common, please discuss with your Elcome representative if you would like to have this functionality made available to you in your system.

Application End Dates

When an Applications End Date is the same as the Vehicle Start Date, Xchecker will now ignore those applications and not add them to the vehicle, thus improving catalogue quality and clarity by not leaving ‘one month’ Applications that are invalid.

Application Parts Summary

A new spreadsheet report has been created called Application Parts Summary to show a high-level summary of parts that fit a particular model. This development was requested by several customers at the Xchecker Research Forums and is ideal for assisting Sales teams when quoting fleets, converting specialist mechanics or assisting in stock packs based on vehicles.
The report allows you to choose an Index, Manufacturer and Model, and then view every part you have listed for it. Go to: Output Data>Summary Reports to produce a spreadsheet in your Clients Report page. Product Group, Product Type, Product Type Description, Part Number and Status will also be included.

This is the first, of a two-part re-design of Advanced Search in the Advanced Catalogue Maintenance screen, making it easier to navigate and improving response times.
Overall functionality remains the same, but we have made the addition of advanced filters, and multiple index ID’s are now performed in a grid rather than in a separate search window.
Go to: Search > Advanced Search or Maintain Data > Advanced Catalogue Maintenance to access the new Quick Search and Advanced Search functionality. In these areas it’s now possible to: • search for multiple KTypNr/NTypnr/engine codes etc. using delimited lists • configure filters quicker by not having to return applications first • save your regular searches for repeated use

Search Vehicles

To search for applications/vehicles, you need to select the index within Search Vehicles After filtering on an index, within the grid below vehicles will appear for filtering purposes. In this grid you can filter on all vehicle information to bring back the exact applications you wish to maintain.

If you wish to filter by External ID, you can do so within the dedicated external ID field. To search for multiple ID’s, use a semi colon to create a delimited list.

Search Applications

After choosing your index and vehicles, you will then need to use Search Applications and specify a product group and any additional filters such as Product Type and Part Number.
Note that multiple values can be searched within the part number drop down by separating them with the “;” character.

This gives you the flexibility and control of Catalogue Maintenance’s filters, but without the need to display applications first. This should speed up your searches, which can now be saved for later use, saving you further time.
To save your search results simply select Save this filter on Search Applications and Search Vehicles.

You can clear or previous filters within this screen via the 'Reset Search' button
